The contracting of rural credit in the first six months of the 2019/20 harvest - July to December - totals R$ 108.5 billion. The Ministry of Agriculture informed that, of the total, R$ 28.5 billion were for investments and R$ 80 billion for costing, commercialization and industrialization operations.

The financing of costing grew 5%, to R$ 61.3 billion. Of this total, R$ 14.2 billion were released within the National Program of Support for Medium-sized Rural Producers (Pronamp). The contracting of resources for investments registered an increase of 19%, and in the scope of Pronamp, which reached R$ 1.47 billion, this expansion was 49%.

Also according to the ministry, the contracting of rural credit with resources from controlled sources increased 5%, and 14% with resources from non-controlled sources, which stood at R$26.2 billion, of which R$15.2 billion came from the issue of LCA (Agribusiness Letter of Credit).

This performance resulted from the reduction in the inflation rate and Selic, which made it possible for rural producers to have more access to free resources.
